Measuring 41 inches long, 18.5 inches wide, and 4.5 inches deep, this guitar showcases a traditional dreadnought body shape, which is renowned for its rich and resonant tone production. The solid spruce top, combined with the mahogany back and sides, creates a harmonious balance of warmth, presence, and projection, making this guitar a delight for both beginners and seasoned players.

Paragraph 2:

The black pickguard adorning the top is a stylish and functional addition, which not only adds visual appeal but also offers protection against scratches and marks, making it an ideal instrument for players who crave the classic 1960s look while ensuring the longevity of their guitar. Additionally, this beautifully designed guitar features a rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets, offering a contemporary 14-inch radius and making every note chord and melody a joy to play.

Paragraph 3:

The H-1260 Sovereign boasts a classic open-gear tuning machines with pearl buttons that enable quick and precise tuning. The guitar's bridge and compensated saddle are made from rosewood, effectively transferring the strings' vibrations onto the soundboard for optimal tone transfer. H-1260 Sovereign Acoustic Guitar (1960s) - A Comprehensive Analysis

The H-1260 Sovereign acoustic guitar from Harmony, a model popular during the 1960s, represents a significant piece of musical history. If you are considering purchasing this instrument, it's essential to weigh its pros and cons to make an informed decision.

Pros:

1. Authentic Vintage Appeal: With its distinct body shape, tortoiseshell pickguard, and classic sunburst finish, the H-1260 boasts an undeniable vintage look that appeals to many guitar enthusiasts.

2. Affordability: Compared to other vintage guitars from well-known brands, the H-1260 is relatively more affordable, making it an attractive option for those seeking an authentic, vintage sound on a budget.

3. Playability: The H-1260 often features a neck with a SlimTone profile, making it comfortable for various playing styles. This can result in easier and more enjoyable playing experience.

Cons:

1. Quality Variation: Given that these guitars were produced in the 1960s, there is a higher likelihood of inconsistencies in build quality between individual units. These inconsistencies could lead to tuning instability, intonation issues, and the need for frequent setup adjustments.

2. Older Materials: The usage of older materials like glossy finishes and less durable woods for the body can result in maintenance issues. These materials may not age well and require more attention and care compared to modern alternatives.

3. Action and Intonation: Some H-1260s may require setup work to ensure proper playability, such as adjusting the string action to a comfortable playing height or addressing intonation issues.

Conclusion:

The H-1260 Sovereign acoustic guitar is a captivating option for those seeking a vintage-looking, budget-friendly instrument with a unique sound. However, its potential downsides quality inconsistencies, older materials, and resultant playability issues should be carefully considered before making a purchase. If you are willing to invest time, effort, and resources on the journey to a worthy, relic-worthy guitar, then the H-1260 could be the perfect companion for your musical ventures.

Recommendation:

Should you decide to invest in the H-1260, consider purchasing it from a reputable seller with a good return policy and a thorough inspection process. A professional setup is recommended upon purchase to ensure optimal playability, and regular maintenance will help mitigate potential issues related to older materials.

Details:

I dig talking guitars and gear so your questions comments are encouraged.

It has a working adjustable truss rod and original cover.

I buy a lot of guitars and guitar related equipment, but typically don't do trades unless its local. There are two very small crack repairs around the sound hole with some minor warping and turn down of fret board extension after neck reset.

I can only compare it to a piano. This is a 1964 to 1969 model with no visible date stamp, featuring all solid wood, solid, silky steak spruce top and one-piece Honduran ribbon mahogany back sides for huge authentic tone. It has a wide body, nut width and 25 scale length with solid mahogany neck bound Brazilian rosewood fret board, multiple bindings on top nice inlay ed rosette, vibrant logo graphics, original waver deluxe tuners, nut, new hand made bone saddle, beautiful bridge tortoiseshell pick guard great relic job, installed modern adhesive.

I've heard this model described by saying never played another guitar that projects the full audio spectrum like sovereign. Offered, with the nice hard shell case pictured, which is fairly new and in excellent shape. The original frets were lightly leveled and polished are in very good shape.

The action is wonderful and this girl really sings. Its very clean on the interior with storage compartment intact, a few dings and bumps outside. This big beauty has been restored to play and sound incredible.

Vintage 1960s Harmony sovereign H-1260 jumbo acoustic guitar, made in Chicago, USA. Comes with a very nice newer hard shell case. I specialize in everything guitars from Stella's to strategists, with a primary focus on the Harmony, Kay and regal catalogue brands 30s through 60 beyond. The original tuners show some patina and a couple are pretty stiff but still do trick.

Willing to deduct value of not needed, more than able ship safely either way. No substantial cracks or bellying of the top, all braces intact and an overall beautiful example this model. This beauty comes ready to tune up and play with all restoration work done carefully true form. Its all original and in great cosmetic condition with some strap marks on the back.

There are some minor dings and scratches with finish damage on the back, part of sides back head stock from being stored a strap. It sounds and plays fantastic with wonderful action, set at about to 12th fret. It has received a neck reset and new bone saddle for excellent play ability with marks on the top from bridge re-glue.

This case is even a better fit than the KB cases around waist. I look forward to making your vintage guitar buying experience awesome. The big tone of these are no secret and this beauty has been set up with d'Dario bronze brass strings.
