Review HOHNER Vintage Dreadnought Guitar Arbor Wood International Japan

The Hohner HG-940 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, manufactured between 1978 and 1987, is a fine example of Hohner's commitment to producing high-quality musical instruments. This guitar, crafted primarily from Arbor wood, offers a rich and distinctive sound that sets it apart from other acoustic guitars in its class.

The HG-940 Dreadnought boasts a solid Arbor wood top, which is known for its superior tonal qualities. The top's grain pattern is visually striking, adding character and uniqueness to each instrument. Arbor wood's tonal properties provide a warm, full-bodied sound, with excellent projection and clarity.

The back and sides of this guitar are also crafted from Arbor wood, ensuring a consistent and balanced tone throughout the instrument. The neck is made of maple, a hardwood that offers both strength and stability. The fingerboard and bridge are made from rosewood, which not only looks beautiful but also contributes to the guitar's resonance and sustain.

The Hohner HG-940 Dreadnought features a standard dreadnought body shape, which provides a robust and powerful sound. Its 25.375-inch (644 mm) scale length, 1.6875-inch (43 mm) nut width, and 15-inch (381 mm) lower bout diameter make it comfortable for most players, while its 1.75-inch (44.5 mm) string spacing allows ample room for easy playing and expressive fingerstyle work.

The HG-940 Dreadnought comes with a traditional six-in-line headstock, which houses chrome open-gear tuning machines. The guitar's body is finished with a satin urethane finish, which not only protects the wood but also allows the natural beauty of the Arbor wood to shine through.

In conclusion, the Hohner HG-940 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, manufactured between 1978 and 1987, is an exceptional instrument for any guitarist who appreciates the rich and warm tones of Arbor wood. Its solid construction, high-quality materials, and traditional design make it a valuable addition to any guitar collection.

Details:

I can ship almost anywhere, but free shipping or a fixed price is for the contiguous 48 states ONLY. I have completely serviced the guitar. It is part of my estate. You should not have to live with something you are unhappy for any reason.

The guitar body has beautiful maple binding with herringbone marquetry around the top, back stripe and sound hole. The neck is arrow straight. This one is from my personal collection. It plays and sounds like guitars worth 5 times the price.

Cleaned and polished the body neck, cleaned conditioned fingerboard, frets, installed new strings D'Dario EXP17 13-56's. This is a VINTAGE 1978-87 HOHNER HG-940 DREADNOUGHT ACOUSTIC GUITAR. The fingerboard has triangle maple markers. It has a few bumps and scuffs, but I would consider it near mint.

Rosewood bridge, mahogany neck, spruce top. Mahogany back and sides, ebony fingerboard. It really is BEAUTIFUL and a solid player. This is a rare, top-of-the-line ALL SOLID wood Instrument.

If you alter, modify, change or repair the item in anyway without my consent, are accepting as is, at price paid. There are hairlines in the top finish near neck, and pick guard is lifting slightly. The action is good with room for adjustments. Scalloped bracing.
