Two small holes are present on each side of the head stock extension where a pickup had been mounted and segment binding is missing at site one these. The guitar has been played quite a bit in its few short years, doing time as gigging instrument.
The fret board and head stock overlay are ebony, as is the bridge. Takes hi Iwamoto is a master Luther in Tokyo making finely crafted mandolins and guitars. This example doesn't have as sweet of a sound some 16 Gibson arch tops, but gives up nothing to any them in power. The frets are still in excellent condition with lots of life left.
The wood used are beautiful and of extremely high quality. They appear to be of Jessica Gold fret wire which has a much longer lifespan than typical nickel allow frets. The neck is 3-ply maple-ebony-maple. The finish shows wear from play, but no signs of any abuse.
