Ready to play right away. Not only for Bert Jan sch enthusiasts. Very comfortable neck. This setup is the best for this guitar in my opinion.

I have not changed the strings in a few years. Original preamps is included which was sold with this guitar new in 1990 's. If you want to try the same setup Bert Jan sch used I can include a pack of specific strings use get his sound. According to his own words from an interview I read.
