Review MARTIN Professional Vintage Up Set Lutheir

Introducing the D-28 Longterm Martin guitar, a masterpiece from the prestigious Martin Guitar Series, originally crafted in 1972. This instrument, proudly labeled as the "D-28 Late 1970s Mart complex Martin," boasts a rich history and exceptional sound quality.

The D-28 Late 1970s Martins are revered for their unique tone and bold aesthetics. This particular model, with the catalog number D-28-Completely Martins' Luthier 1972 28 D-28 Late 1970s Martin, undergoes an in-depth refurbishment by expert luthiers to ensure its continued excellence.

Upon first glance, sit back and admire the attractive, classic design. Its solid Sitka spruce top is adorned with richly grained, aged herringbone rosette and purfling. The top's intricately scalloped X-bracing system provides exceptional structural integrity, while enhancing the D-28's signature warm, clear, and powerful tonal characteristics.

Moving further down, the D-28-Completely Martins' back and sides are constructed from straight, jugged, curly mahogany. This wood combination not only boasts striking figuring but also injects an undefined mid-range richness and deep, resonant bass tones.

The neck, consisting of select solid mahogany, showcases a modified low oval shape with a comfortable and inviting feel. Its laughter lines - knots and waviness featured along the grain - tell tales of its authenticity. An Indian rosewood fingerboard, complete with 20 frets, acts as a complementary centerpiece, its nut width measuring 1.687 inches (42.86mm).

The machine heads are premium enclosed gold, ensuring the tuning remains stable and reliable throughout performances. The guitar is equipped with a bone nut and saddle, further contributing to the D-28's fine-tuned acoustic perfection.

Despite its aged charm, the D-28-Completely Martins' soundhole is outlined by a tortoise pickguard, a subtle yet elegant touch that adds a layer of protection while highlighting the attractive aging of the topwood. Devoid of modern electronics, this instrument showcases a raw, pure tone that resonates deeply with guitarists who want an authentic, unplugged playing experience.

This vintage D-28 guitar is a stunning example of Martin's dedication to craftsmanship and quality. Refurbished by skilled luthiers to uphold its original authenticity and unique character, the D-28-Completely Martins' Luthier 1972 28 D-28 Late 1970s Martin provides an unparalleled, time-honored sound and aesthetic appeal. With its captivating presence, it's a must-have for serious acoustic guitar enthusiasts and collectors.

Details:

You won't find a more desirable ready to play vintage Martin d28 anywhere. Don't buy some vintage Martin that has lousy action, worn frets, bowed neck, reset needed.

Tim's acoustics is on reverb. The only modification that took out any extra wood is the Allen key hole in the upper brace for the modern adjustable truss rod, which is present in all modern d28's and the slightly oversized end pin hole to accept the 1/4 jack for the fisherman. Get one that is ready to play and made sure it is ready to play.

Everything about this guitar has been painstakingly gone over to ensure a great playing and sounding vintage guitar right out of the case. The rosewood looks even better in person. Be amazed not disappointed. This is my personal so no expense was spared making it play like a dream.

I sell on the reverb mainly but due to a special offer from I have listed this one here.
