The so-called MC Squared was born out of an accident: one day in the late 80s, when Boa working on a right-handed M-sized cutaway kit, he realized top had cracked non-cutaway side - and so set it aside shelf. Label: Limited Edition, signed by C.F. Controls: Volume, Tone. Wood: Mahogany.

Tone woods include an X-braced Sitka spruce top, East Indian rosewood back/sides, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard. Marquetry: Abalone rosette, multi-ply binding. Bridge: Ebony belly, bone saddle. M for the size C2 cutaway x2; hence, Boas Einstein-approved MC Squared moniker.

Only 22 examples of the MC2-28 exist, and this is one only two produced for export to Japan recently repatriated. Up for sale, a 1988 Martin MC2-28 Limited Edition MC Squared in excellent condition and perfect working order, complete with the original molded hard shell case. Frets: Slender, regret, no wear. The original latches are all functional, and one of the top corners is chipped. Bracing: X scalloped. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless. Electronics: Active Puzo under saddle pickup.
