The Epiphone PR-715 12-string acoustic guitar is an affordable option for musicians looking to add a 12-string instrument to their collection. Here are some pros and cons to help you make an informed decision:

Pros:

1. Affordable: The PR-715 is priced lower than many other 12-string acoustic guitars, making it a great option for beginners or those on a budget.

2. Solid Spruce Top: The solid spruce top provides a rich, resonant tone that is typically found in more expensive guitars.

3. Mahogany Back and Sides: The mahogany back and sides offer a warm, balanced tone that complements the spruce top.

4. 12-String Tuning Machines: The guitar comes with 12-string tuning machines, which make tuning easier and more efficient compared to standard 6-string tuning machines.

5. Versatile: A 12-string guitar can be used to add depth and richness to various genres of music, from folk to rock.

Cons:

1. Action: Some users have reported that the factory action on the PR-715 is not ideal for all playing styles and techniques, and may require adjustment.

2. Bridge: The plastic bridge may not be as durable as a wooden bridge, and may require occasional replacement.

3. Finish: The finish on some PR-715 guitars may not be of the highest quality, with some users reporting scratches or imperfections.

Conclusion:

The Epiphone PR-715 12-string acoustic guitar offers a rich, resonant tone and versatility at an affordable price. However, it may require some adjustments to the action and bridge, and the finish may not be of the highest quality. Overall, the PR-715 is a solid choice for musicians looking to add a 12-string guitar to their collection without breaking the bank.

Recommendation:

If you are looking for an affordable 12-string acoustic guitar with a rich, resonant tone and versatile sound, the Epiphone PR-715 is a great option. However, be prepared to make some adjustments to the action and bridge, and keep in mind that the finish may not be of the highest quality. If you have the budget for a more expensive guitar, consider looking at options from Taylor, Martin, or Gibson for a higher-end 12-string experience.

Details:

Action is comfortable and theres room left on the saddle to lower, if so desired. Frets are good with lots of life left on them. This is a full size dreadnought body with nice antique cherry sunburst finish. This comes in a wood en hard case with new set of strings and rarely used Dean Marley Artist Transducer pickup.

I ship quickly. The top is flat and so the bridge. The case is sturdy with no odors. The next owner may want to tidy that repair up or not, but it never bothered me.

A small section of the Rolex needs to be re-glued. From a smoke free home. A previous owner re-glued it, but its not flush, it is solid and been in the same condition over 10 years that I've owned. Features a Spruce top, Rosewood sides, One-piece set mahogany neck, fingerboard with inlays, Scripted Epiphone logo on head stock, 20 frets, 25.5 scale 1.875 nut width .

Heres a cool Epiphone PR-715-12ACS 12 string acoustic guitar that was built in Japan between 1981 -1985. The guitar plays well and sounds great, but it does have a small crack on the back of neck at base head stock from just below first low E tuner above nut to high tuner, as seen in photos. Signature required for delivery. The neck is straight and the truss rod works.

In overall good condition with the usual bumps and knocks on a guitar of this age, but nothing major. All latches and hinges work.
