Review WASHBURN Rare Mint Wb200s Mini Jumbo Black

Washburn WB200SB, WB200S, WB400, and SB200SB Acoustic-Electric Guitars: A Comprehensive Product Description

The Washburn WB200SB, WB200S, WB400, and SB200SB are a series of high-quality, affordable acoustic-electric guitars from Washburn. These instruments are perfect for beginners, hobbyists, and seasoned musicians looking for a versatile and reliable guitar for various playing styles and performances.

Starting with the WB200SB model, this instrument boasts a select spruce top paired with layered mahogany back and sides. The Satin Black finish gives it a sleek and modern appearance while the 20-fret C-shaped Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fretboard provides excellent playability and comfort. Featuring a System 20 electronics package with an under-saddle pickup and a soundhole mounted preamp, this guitar is ready to deliver spectacular plugged-in tone for performances or recording sessions.

Next in the line comes the WB200S model, which is similar to the WB200SB but features a Natural Gloss finish, adding a more traditional aesthetic to the design. This guitar also comes with the same top-notch specifications, including a select spruce top, layered mahogany back and sides, and a C-shaped Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fretboard.

The WB400 guitar shares the same body shape and construction as the previous models but boasts an upgraded top with Solid Sitka Spruce. The Satin Natural finish and the superior tonewood addition deliver an enhanced playing experience, allowing the guitar to project a fuller, richer sound. Additionally, the rosewood bridge adds to the guitar's increased tonal appeal.

Lastly, the SB200SB model is the most compact option in this series, featuring a 3/4 size body. The select Spruce top, layered Mahogany back and sides, C-shaped Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fretboard, and System 20 electronics package are still present in this smaller body size. This guitar is an excellent choice for younger players or those looking for a more portable, travel-friendly instrument.

All of these Washburn guitars come equipped with a thin, polished finish to preserve the natural tonal character of the woods and offer a smooth playing experience. The die-cast chrome tuning machines ensure that your guitar stays in tune, and the Synaho Gold strings are a popular choice among players for their excellent tone and longevity.

In conclusion, the Washburn WB200SB, WB200S, WB400, and SB200SB acoustic-electric guitars offer an excellent balance of affordability, playability, and tonal quality. Whether you're a beginner just starting your journey in the world of music or an experienced musician looking for a versatile, reliable guitar for various performances, these instruments are sure to exceed your expectations.

Washburn WB200SB, WB200S, WB400, and SB200SB Acoustic-Electric Guitars: A Comparison of Features, Benefits, and Drawbacks

1. Washburn WB200SB and WB200S:

The Washburn WB200SB and WB200S are reflecting the same model with a difference being the finish. The WB200SB comes with a gloss finish, while the WB200S comes with a satin finish. Both of these guitars feature a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fretboard. They also come with a built-in Fishman Sonitone electronics system.

Pros:

- Affordable price point for a quality acoustic-electric guitar

- Comfortable and fast neck, making it easy to play

- Rich, full-bodied tone from the solid sitka spruce top

Cons:

- Some users report that the tuning stability can be an issue

- The electronics might not compare to more advanced systems

2. Washburn WB400:

The WB400 is a step up in terms of tonal quality and build quality. Its body is made from layered mahogany, whereas the top is made from select spruce. Additionally, it features a Venetian cutaway, which provides easier access to the upper frets. This model comes with a more advanced Fishman Presys Blend electronics system, allowing for an active and passive tone control, as well as a built-in tuner.

Pros:

- Excellent value for the price, featuring advanced electronics

- Comfortable and fast neck, allowing for easy playability

- Rich, balanced tone from the solid spruce top and layered mahogany body

Cons:

- Some users report a need for frequent tune-ups

- The action might be set somewhat high from the factory

3. Washburn SB200SB:

The SB200SB is a dreadnought-shaped parlor-size guitar. Like the other Washburn models, it features a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard. It boasts a built-in Shadow NanoPit boutique electronics system, which some consider as offering better sound quality and volume than other systems.

Pros:

- Compact and easy to travel with, ideal for small gig venues

- Rich, well-balanced tone, courtesy of its solid spruce top

- High-quality Shadow NanoPit electronics system for excellent sound and bass response

Cons:

- Some users report that the neck feels thin, especially for people with larger hands

- Might be too small for players who prefer a full-sized guitar

Conclusion:

When making a decision to purchase one among the Washburn WB200SB, WB200S, WB400, and SB200SB models, consider several factors such as your budget, desired tonal characteristics, performance needs, and preferred size. If you are looking for an affordable entry-level guitar with basic electronics and are willing to compensate for some tuning stability issues, the WB200SB or WB200S would be a solid choice. For a step up in sound quality, background noise filtering in live settings, and more advanced electronics, consider the WB400. Finally, if portability and high-quality electronics are important to you, then the SB200SB is a worthwhile consideration as a parlor-size guitar with excellent plug-in performance.

Hence the reason for 50 shipping. You never see them listed for sale anywhere.

Because this is an acoustic guitar a much larger box required for shipping. Thanks, mark Sta-tote.

I guess its a obsessive compulsion type of thing. They were officially released in 2008, or so I think by looking at the 2007 and 2008 Washburn catalogs. Most of these guitars were natural finished, but this one is finished in black.

First, I must start off by saying am not a guitar dealer. I do have a couple of Washburn acoustics this era that are marked factory used due to cracks in the tops. If you want to buy a guitar, play it, and decide don't it judging from the serial number I think its 2007, but these guitars did not show up in 2007 catalog.

I love guitars. I actually pay the shipping cost, so am not going to take that much of a hit on my selling price. To sell a guitar it cost 6.

It was this way when I received new, and do not think is a factory Belem model. No finish wear. These were not cheap guitars when new. A: so, let me it this straight.

I have many guitars, amps, parts, etc. I have seen very few of these guitars in black. I'm going to send you my guitar most of them in mint condition, and accept a return after its possibly scratched or damaged. I am not guitar center, musicians friend, zounds, or sweet water.

Most if not all my buyers are blown away about the condition of guitars I sell them. It is not labeled as a 2nd or used.

Many have never been played, or played a hand full of times. If the guitar has any defects they are described in listing.

It will fit in a dreadnought case, but case is not the correct for this guitar. I do not sell damaged guitars. No fret wear.

The head stock does have white areas on corners see pics. This listing is for my 2007 Washburn WB200SB mini jumbo. All the guitar I have listed are guitars from my personal collection. If I say mint unplaced, its unplaced.

You do the math. This particular example is in new condition. In recent years, I have rarely seen any of these guitars listed for sale. A: well question kind of goes back return.
