I purchased this Taylor 812 wal in it is now a 23 year old rarity which looks showroom and sounds even better. Upon viewing the guitar, Taylor refinished the guitar completely and also included a new pick guard which I chose to leave off. The letter states these award guitar sets were very custom and that there was no suggested retail price set on these guitars as they are not model's. It could be safely concluded that there were likely less than twenty of these made.

A custom set of fret board inlays, sound hole detail, and multiple fret board binding round out the appearance of this rare guitar. It became tacky and cloudy over time.

A mahogany neck, ebony fret board and rosewood head stock overlay finish out the selected wood. To my understanding, Taylor had problems with the original finish applied to these guitars and mine was no exception. The included letter see pic documents that it is one of twenty pairs of guitars awarded to Taylor's top twenty dealers at that time.
