Review TAYLOR Condition Capsule Grand Concert Time Inlays Mint Cindy Nice

1997 Taylor Guitars 912ce Cindy - A Richlyappointed Grand Auditorium Acoustic-electric Guitar

The 1997 Taylor Guitars 912ce Cindy is a masterpiece in acoustic-electric guitar craftsmanship, showcasing the renowned quality and innovation that Taylor Guitars is known for. This particular model is a limited-edition release, paying homage to Cindy Cashdollar, a respected session musician and pedal steel guitar virtuoso. In this extensive description, we'll take you through the intricate details of this uniquely beautiful and exquisitely crafted instrument.

Exterior Design - Aesthetics and Functionality in Unison

BG-series instruments, such as the 1997 Taylor 912ce Cindy, have been a staple of Taylor Guitars' offerings since the mid-1990s. Their design philosophy centers around creating visually appealing instruments that deliver top-notch sound quality. The Grand Auditorium body shape, ideal for guitarists who desire a versatile and balanced tone, is the foundation for this model. This body size delivers a notably full and robust tone, making it an excellent choice for various playing styles and genres.

Adorning the solid Sitka spruce top is an eye-catching "Cindy" inlay, discreetly positioned between the 12th and 14th frets. The inlays themselves are part of the esteemed Taylor imprint of inlays, aptly named "Inlay Series," which boasts intricate designs custom-created for specific models. These inlays were crafted using mother-of-pearl and abalone materials, providing a stunning contrast against the maple chevron edge bound top.

Additionally, the ebony fretboard and bridge add a touch of sophistication to the guitar's appearance, while ensuring smooth and accurate intonation and exceptional playability. The vivacious, intricate Italian acrylic rosette and highlighted purfling further accentuate the guitar's visual allure.

Components - Premium Hardware for Superior Performance

A guitar is only as good as its components, and Taylor Guitars never compromise on quality. The 1997 912ce Cindy is equipped with several premium features that fuse form and functionality. The Esprit cutaway shape, along with the Venetian cutaway, provides effortless access to the upper frets on the instrument, a feature that is particularly advantageous when playing intricate solos and complex chords.

The guitar's sonic capabilities are reinforced by Taylor's expressive and balanced electronics system, the Expression System 2 (ES2), which features a discrete preamp and height-adjustable constituent pickup system. This advanced system delivers a remarkably clear and vibrant tone, preserving the guitar's natural sound, even when amplified.

Final Words - Uniting Looks, Sound, and History

In conclusion, the 1997 Taylor Guitars 912ce Cindy epitomizes the convergence of unparalleled craftsmanship, exceptional sound quality, and a rich musical history. With its exquisite design, such as the "Cindy" inlay and the captivating rosette and purfling, this instrument promises to not only be a visual standout but also an excellent companion for musicians of all skill levels.

With its robust yet balanced tone, the 1997 Taylor 912ce Cindy is an enduring testament to Taylor Guitars' commitment to producing exceptional instruments that cater to the evolving needs and desires of musicians. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting your musical journey, this instrument is an investment that will undoubtedly provide you with countless hours of enjoyment and inspiration.

A Detailed Analysis of Buying a 1997 Taylor 912c Cindy with Inlay: Pros, Cons, and Conclusion

Introduction:

The Taylor 912c Cindy, a model from Taylor Guitars' popular 900 Series, is a sought-after acoustic guitar due to its impressive tonal quality and beautiful design, which includes the iconic inlay of the Cindy signatures. In this analysis, we will discuss the pros and cons of purchasing a 1997 Taylor 912c Cindy to help potential buyers make an informed decision.

Pros:

1. Superior Tone: The Taylor 912c is renowned for its balanced and articulate tone, making it an excellent choice for both strumming and fingerstyle playing. The guitar's solid Sitka spruce top and layered Indian rosewood back and sides contribute to its rich, full-bodied sound.

2. Eye-catching Design: The 1997 Taylor 912c Cindy features a stunning inlay of the Cindy signatures, inspired by the original guitar given to country legend Cindy Cashdollar by Taylor's founder, Bob Taylor. Its unique design adds character and personality to the instrument.

3. Versatility: This guitar offers a versatile playing experience, catering to a wide range of musical styles. Whether you're a folk, bluegrass, or country musician, the Taylor 912c Cindy can accommodate various playing techniques and expressions.

4. Durable Construction: With its layered Indian rosewood back and sides and a Venetian cutaway, the 912c is built to withstand the rigors of frequent use and travel.

Cons:

1. Price: The Taylor 912c Cindy falls into the higher price range for acoustic guitars. Its desirable features and limited availability may make it a significant investment for some potential buyers.

2. Size: The guitar's Grand Concert body shape, while offering a warmer and richer sound than a smaller body size, might not be ideal for those seeking a more compact instrument.

3. Limited Availability: Due to its age and unique features, finding a 1997 Taylor 912c Cindy in good condition may be challenging, and prices may vary significantly depending on the current market conditions.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the 1997 Taylor 912c Cindy offers a unique combination of aesthetic appeal, superior tone, and versatility. However, its higher price point and slightly larger body size may not appeal to everyone. Ultimately, potential buyers should weigh the pros and cons carefully to determine if the Taylor 912c Cindy is the ideal acoustic guitar for their musical journey.

Recommendation:

For those considering the 1997 Taylor 912c Cindy, I would recommend trying one out at a local guitar shop if possible. Listen closely to its tone and evaluate its condition for yourself. If it resonates with you, both musically and visually, then the investment in this beautiful instrument may be worth it. Otherwise, explore other options within your budget that provide similar tonal qualities and features.

Details:

This era had much brighter inlays, this one was built before the big expansion at the factory and has no label on the back of the guitar, but instead has one on the neck block with handwritten serial number and bob's signature. The rosewood is beautiful on this guitar too with elegant bonding with red striped in them. It is a 912C meaning it has the cutaway but no electronics.

This is pre nt neck. I honestly cannot find a mark on this guitar it is a traditional dovetail joint and has no scarf joint at the nut like the newer ones where the head stock has been spliced on, this one is one piece of mahogany. This way if you prefer a pickup in it, you can choose a better system than Taylor puts in them or just mic it.

Almost 20 year old Taylor 912C in pristine condition. It plays as good as it did when it was new and has never had any modifications. This is a rare find. The guitar is all original and comes from a time period that Taylor was making exceptional guitars.

These guitars go for anywhere from 3200 to more than 4k online so save some money here. I am in central KY if that helps anyone.
