Guild F50R Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Vintage 1975 Model in Beautiful Rosewood Finish

The Guild F50R acoustic-electric guitar, crafted in 1975, is a fine example of vintage craftsmanship and timeless design. The classic model bears the signature of Guild's exceptional quality and commitment to genuine tone. With a rich, rosewood finish, this 50-year-old instrument retains the warmth and allure of a seasoned piece while exhibiting the craftsmanship of Guild's past.

Crafted from select tonewoods, the body of this Guild F50R guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top, which provides an excellent platform for producing bright, well-balanced tonality, superior projection, and exceptional clarity. The guitar's back and sides are made of beautiful rosewood, praised for its rich, warm, and resonant sound.

The Guild F50R boasts a traditional dreadnought shape, which is favored for its substantial volume and projection. The guitar's body depth is well-balanced, delivering a full-bodied sound while remaining comfortable for players with various playing styles. The forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing enhances the guitar's overall tone, promoting evenly distributed sound across the entire size of the instrument without sacrificing the structural integrity.

The neck of the Guild F50R guitar is fashioned from mahogany, creating an ideal blend of strength and sensitivity. Measuring 25.5 inches in length and featuring a 12-inch radius, the C-shaped neck profile is comfortable for various playing styles, ensuring you can explore the endless tonal possibilities with ease. The rosewood fingerboard adorned with 20 vintage-style frets accommodates players with a preference for traditional feel and precise intonation.

Equipped with a sophisticated LR Baggs Anthem Phase EQ pickup system, the Guild F50R acoustic-electric guitar retains an authentic tone when amplified. This cleverly designed system incorporates a phase reversal function, which can be beneficial when two guitars are used in close proximity or when dealing with electromagnetic interference.

With intricate tortoiseshell binding, ornate flight-case style peghead overlay, and vintage-style open-gear tuning machines, the Guild F50R guitar is not only a sonic delight but also an attractive musical instrument that evokes a sense of history and prestige.

The Guild F50R represents a perfect combination of Guild's respected history, elegant craftsmanship, and timeless tone, making it an invaluable addition to any music collection. This distinctive acoustic-electric guitar is ready to inspire musicians with its rich history and superior sound.

The Guild F50R rosewood, a classic guitar manufactured by Guild in 1975, has been a sought-after instrument among guitar enthusiasts and collectors. Here are some pros and cons to consider before deciding to buy one:

Pros:

1. Authentic tone: The F50R's unique tonal qualities are often described as warm, balanced, and rich. Its solid Sitka spruce top and laminated rosewood back and sides contribute to its full-bodied sound.

2. Playability: The guitar's 12-fret neck joint and 1 11/16" nut width make it comfortable for players with various playing styles.

3. Design and aesthetics: The F50R's classic, vintage design, with its bound body, multi-pyramid bridge, and rosewood fingerboard, adds to its appeal and makes it an attractive addition to any collection.

4. Durability: A solid wood body coupled with a laminated back and sides makes this guitar robust and durable, which is an advantage when it comes to maintaining its structural integrity over time.

Cons:

1. Price: Given its age and the craftsmanship involved in manufacture, the F50R can be quite expensive. Its rarity and desirability in the vintage guitar market may further impact its cost.

2. Potential need for repairs or restoration: Older guitars like the F50R may require some degree of repair or restoration work. Factors such as finish issues, neck alignment, and fretwork are all common areas that might need attention.

3. Scarcity of spare parts: Parts for vintage guitars like the F50R can be difficult to find, which may result in expensive repairs if needed.

4. Unique playing habits: Given the F50R's vintage specifications such as string action, fret size, and neck profile, it might take some time for new players to get accustomed to its unique playing characteristics.

Conclusion:

The Guild F50R rosewood is a stunning vintage guitar that offers a unique playing experience with its rich, full-bodied tone, comfortable playability, and attractive design. However, prospective buyers should be prepared for the significant investment required to acquire one, as well as the potential need for repairs or restoration due to its age. Ultimately, whether or not the F50R is the right guitar for you comes down to your personal preferences, budget, and level of dedication to vintage instruments.

Recommendation:

For those looking for a vintage guitar with a classic sound and aesthetic appeal, the F50R is definitely an excellent choice. Given the instrument's potential need for repairs or restoration, it's crucial to thoroughly research the market, seek the advice of experts, and budget accordingly before making a purchase. It's also recommended to try out a few examples in person, if possible, to get a feel for the guitar's unique characteristics and determine whether it suits your playing style and preferences.

Details:

Do not count on 's estimated shipping cost. Absolutely no checking, crazing, surface cracks, none. Soft finger picking, awesome. Has not changed in the 5 years since I discovered it.

Outstanding condition. Guild 1975 jumbo F50R.

This is east Indian rosewood, not maple. Stays in tune, plays evenly all the way up. Pictured is a flawed spot on back of neck, finish flaw only. Strum hard with a pick, big volume.

I will provide seriously interested persons best photos I can of the cosmetics to whatever degree you wish. I've owned it since bridge is tight, pick guard flat, neck straight. Ask me whatever happy new year.

Play it any way you want. Neck reset, nut and saddle replaced, frets dressed 12 years ago by the best Luther in Cleveland. These guys are not easy to find. There are a couple dings on top, lot of surface pick scratches, a funny little curl in sound hole at bottom of neck, treble side.

Original hard shell case is basically perfect. From 41 years ago. Sweet, rich, incredible sound.

An American classic. The back and sides are nearly perfect. All of the binding is yellowed with age, not as white as photos look, except nut and saddle, which are 12 years old. Always humidified.
